But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.

But Paul’s answer to them was: “They have flogged us in public without trial, though we are Roman citizens, and they have put us in prison, and now they are for sending us out secretly! No, indeed! Let them come and take us out themselves.”

Paulus aber sprach zu ihnen: Nachdem sie uns, die wir Römer sind, öffentlich unverurteilt geschlagen, haben sie uns ins Gefängnis geworfen, und jetzt stoßen sie uns heimlich aus? Nicht doch; sondern laß sie selbst kommen und uns hinausführen.

Entonces Pablo les dijo: Azotados públicamente sin ser condenados, siendo hombres Romanos, nos echaron en la cárcel; y ¿ahora nos echan encubiertamente? No, de cierto, sino vengan ellos y sáquennos.

Mas Paulo lhes disse: Eles nos açoitaram publicamente, e sem sermos sentenciados, sendo nós homens romanos, lançaram-nos na prisão, e agora nos lançam fora às escondidas? Assim não! Mas que eles mesmos venham e nos tirem.

Porém, Paulo lhes disse: "Sendo nós cidadãos romanos, publicamente nos açoitaram, sem sermos condenados, e nos lançaram na prisão; e agora querem nos soltar em segredo? De forma alguma! Que eles mesmos venham e nos tirem daqui".
