These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Father Leo mobile application ("the App") developed by Blocksize One UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Oberstr. 3, 47829 Krefeld, Germany ("we", "us", "our"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
Father Leo is a Bible reading and devotional application. You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
You must be at least 16 years of age to use the App (the age of digital consent under GDPR). If you are under 16, you may only use the App with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
The App includes Bible text from public domain translations:
These translations are in the public domain and freely available. Additional translations and languages may be added over time. Devotional content and study plan commentary are original works created for the App and are protected by copyright.
The App includes chat and voice features that use third-party services:
Responses from Father Leo are intended for personal spiritual enrichment and do not constitute professional counseling, theological advice, or pastoral care. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of generated content.
Free users are subject to daily usage limits for chat and voice features. Premium subscribers receive expanded or unlimited access as described in the App.
The chat and voice call features are provided for personal spiritual guidance and Bible study. To ensure a quality experience for all users and to manage the costs of operating these services, we enforce fair use limits:

We reserve the right to throttle, suspend, or restrict access to chat and voice features for users who violate this Fair Use Policy. We will make reasonable efforts to notify affected users before taking action. Usage limits and fair use thresholds may be adjusted at our discretion to ensure service sustainability.
The App relies on third-party services to provide its functionality. By using the App, you acknowledge that your data may be processed by:

Father Leo offers optional premium subscriptions that unlock additional features. All payments are processed exclusively through Apple's In-App Purchase system.
Current subscription options and pricing are displayed in the App before purchase.
Since all payments are processed through Apple's App Store, refund requests should be submitted directly to Apple through Apple's Report a Problem page.
If you are a consumer in Germany, you also have statutory refund rights under the German Civil Code (BGB § 312g) for distance contracts, independent of Apple's refund policy. If you believe Apple's process does not adequately protect your consumer rights, you may contact us at webmaster@blocksize.one.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason, in accordance with the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). However, by purchasing a digital subscription and consenting to immediate delivery when the download or streaming begins, you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the digital content has been accessed. This is in accordance with Article 16(m) of the Directive. For subscriptions, you may cancel future renewals at any time through your Apple ID account settings.
Widerrufsrecht: Verbraucher haben grundsätzlich ein Widerrufsrecht von 14 Tagen bei Fernabsatzverträgen. Für die Lieferung digitaler Inhalte (digitale Abonnements) ist das Widerrufsrecht nach § 356 Abs. 5 BGB ausgeschlossen, sobald mit der Ausführung des Vertrages begonnen wurde und Sie dem ausdrücklich zugestimmt und Kenntnis davon genommen haben, dass Sie Ihr Widerrufsrecht mit Beginn der Vertragsausführung verlieren.
Für zukünftige Verlängerungen: Sie können Ihr Abonnement jederzeit in Ihren Apple-ID-Einstellungen kündigen. Eine Kündigung beendet zukünftige Zahlungen, hat aber keine Auswirkungen auf bereits bezahlte Zeiträume.
The App, including its design, Father Leo character, devotional content, study plans, and original commentary, is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the App's proprietary content without our prior written consent. Public domain Bible translations remain in the public domain.
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. The devotional content and Father Leo's responses are intended for personal spiritual enrichment and do not constitute professional counseling or theological advice.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Blocksize One UG (haftungsbeschränkt) shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the App. This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for damages arising from injury to life, body, or health caused by negligence, or for intentional misconduct, as required by German law (§ 309 Nr. 7 BGB).
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Locally stored data remains on your device; server-side data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the App or by updating this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, please discontinue use of the App.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms is Nuremberg (Nürnberg), Germany, to the extent permitted by law. If you are a consumer residing in the EU, you additionally benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under applicable EU or national law.
The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution (ODR) platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not obligated and not willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
