If the system of religion which involved death, embodied in a written law and engraved on stones, began amid such glory, that the Israelites were unable to gaze at the face of Moses because of its glory, though it was but a passing glory,

(Wenn aber der Dienst des Todes, mit Buchstaben in Steine eingegraben, in Herrlichkeit begann, so daß die Söhne Israels das Angesicht Moses' nicht unverwandt anschauen konnten wegen der Herrlichkeit seines Angesichts, die hinweggetan werden sollte,

Y si el ministerio de muerte en la letra grabado en piedras, fué con gloria, tanto que los hijos de Israel no pudiesen poner los ojos en la faz de Moisés á causa de la gloria de su rostro, la cual había de perecer,

E se o ministério da morte em letras, impresso em pedras, foi com glória, de maneira que os filhos de Israel não podiam fixar os olhos no rosto de Moisés, por causa da glória de seu rosto, que se extinguia,

Ora, o ministério da morte, com letras gravadas em pedras, veio com tanta glória que o povo de Israel não podia olhar diretamente no rosto de Moisés, por causa da glória de seu rosto, a qual estava perdendo seu brilho.
