Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,

For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace; to the end that the promise may be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all

That is why everything is made to depend on faith: so that everything may be God’s gift, and in order that the fulfillment of the promise may be made certain for all Abraham’s descendants — not only for those who take their stand on the law, but also for those who take their stand on the faith of Abraham. (He is the Father of us all;

Darum ist es aus Glauben, auf daß es nach Gnade sei, damit die Verheißung dem ganzen Samen fest sei, nicht allein dem vom Gesetz, sondern auch dem vom Glauben Abrahams, welcher unser aller Vater ist, (wie geschrieben steht:

Por tanto es por la fe, para que sea por gracia; para que la promesa sea firme á toda simiente, no solamente al que es de la ley, mas también al que es de la fe de Abraham, el cual es padre de todos nosotros,

Por isso é pela fé, para que seja conforme a graça, a fim de que a promessa seja confirmada a todos os descendentes, não somente aos que são da Lei, mas também aos que são da fé de Abraão, que é Pai de todos nós,

Por essa razão, isso é pela fé, para que a promessa seja baseada na graça, e seja garantida para todos os descendentes de Abraão. E esses descendentes incluem não somente aqueles que conhecem a Lei, mas também aqueles que são da fé de Abraão. Pois ele é o pai de todos nós,
