But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

and I tell you that Elijah has already come, and people have not recognized him, but have treated him just as they pleased. In the same way, too, the Son of Man is destined to undergo suffering at people’s hands.”

Ich sage euch aber, daß Elias schon gekommen ist, und sie haben ihn nicht erkannt, sondern an ihm getan, was irgend sie wollten. Also wird auch der Sohn des Menschen von ihnen leiden.

Mas os digo, que ya vino Elías, y no le conocieron; antes hicieron en él todo lo que quisieron: así también el Hijo del hombre padecerá de ellos.

Digo-vos, porém, que Elias já veio, mas não o reconheceram. Em vez disso fizeram dele tudo o que quiseram. Assim também o Filho do homem sofrerá por meio deles.

Todavia Eu vos digo: "Elias já veio, mas eles não o reconheceram; ao invés disso, fizeram o que quiseram com ele. Do mesmo modo, o Filho do Homem vai sofrer igualmente nas mãos deles".
