And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

And then he added: “Take care to keep yourselves free from every form of covetousness; for even in the height of their prosperity a person’s true life does not depend on what they have.”

Er sprach aber zu ihnen: Sehet zu und hütet euch vor aller Habsucht, denn nicht weil jemand Überfluß hat, besteht sein Leben von seiner Habe.

Y díjoles: Mirad, y guardaos de toda avaricia; porque la vida del hombre no consiste en la abundancia de los bienes que posee.

E disse-lhes: Olhai, e tomai cuidado com a ganância; porque a vida de alguém não consiste na abundância dos bens que possui.

Depois disse a multidão: “Cuidai para que vos guardeis de todos os desejos gananciosos, pois a vida de alguém não consiste na abundância de seus bens.”
