O propósito desse mandamento é de que o povo de Israel traga seus sacrifícios a Yahweh à entrada da tenda do encontro, ao sacerdote, para ser sacrificado como oferta pacífica a Yahweh, ao invés de oferecer sacrifícios em um campo aberto.
