Und der Dornstrauch sprach zu den Bäumen: Wenn ihr mich in Wahrheit zum König über euch salben wollt, so kommet, vertrauet euch meinem Schatten an; wenn aber nicht, so soll Feuer von dem Dornstrauch ausgehen und die Zedern des Libanon verzehren. -

Y el escaramujo respondió á los árboles: Si en verdad me elegís por rey sobre vosotros, venid, y aseguraos debajo de mi sombra: y si no, fuego salga del escaramujo que devore los cedros del Líbano.

E o espinheiro respondeu às árvores: Se em verdade me elegeis por rei sobre vós, vinde, e assegurai-vos debaixo de minha sombra: e se não, fogo saia do espinheiro que devore os cedros do Líbano.

O espinheiro disse para as árvores: 'Se verdadeiramente quereis me ungir rei sobre vós, vinde e encontrai segurança debaixo da minha sombra. Do contrário, que do espinheiro saia fogo e queime os cedros do Líbano'.
