And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he is left alone: if mischief befall him by the way in the which ye go, then shall ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to the grave.

Er aber sprach: Mein Sohn soll nicht mit euch hinabziehen; denn sein Bruder ist tot, und er allein ist übriggeblieben, und begegnete ihm ein Unfall auf dem Wege, auf welchem ihr ziehet, so würdet ihr mein graues Haar mit Kummer hinabbringen in den Scheol.

Y él dijo: No descenderá mi hijo con vosotros; que su hermano es muerto, y él solo ha quedado: y si le aconteciere algún desastre en el camino por donde vais, haréis descender mis canas con dolor á la sepultura.

E ele disse: Não descerá meu filho convosco; que seu irmão é morto, e ele somente restou; e se lhe acontecer algum desastre no caminho por onde vades, fareis descer minhas cãs com dor ao mundo dos mortos.

Jacó disse: "Meu filho não descerá convosco. Pois seu irmão está morto e somente ele restou. Se lhe acontecer algum mal no caminho por onde forem, fareis meus cabelos brancos descerem com tristeza ao Sheol".
