Und Ruben sprach zu ihnen: Vergießet nicht Blut; werfet ihn in diese Grube, die in der Wüste ist, und leget nicht Hand an ihn auf daß er ihn aus ihrer Hand errettete, um ihn wieder zu seinem Vater zu bringen.

Y díjoles Rubén: No derraméis sangre; echadlo en esta cisterna que está en el desierto, y no pongáis mano en él; por librarlo así de sus manos, para hacerlo volver á su padre.

E disse-lhes Rúben: Não derrameis sangue; lançai-o nesta cisterna que está no deserto, e não ponhais mão nele; para livrá-lo assim de suas mãos, para fazê-lo virar a seu pai.

Rúben disse a eles: "Não derrameis sangue. Jogai-o nesta cova no deserto, todavia não ponhais a mão nele". Ele planejava resgatar José de suas mãos para fazê-lo retornar ao seu pai.
