Por tanto alabé yo la alegría; que no tiene el hombre bien debajo del sol, sino que coma y beba, y se alegre; y que esto se le quede de su trabajo los días de su vida que Dios le dió debajo del sol.

Assim elogiei a alegria, pois o homem não tem nada melhor abaixo do sol do que comer, beber e se alegrar; que isso acompanhe seu trabalho nos dias de sua vida, que Deus lhe dá abaixo do sol.

Portanto, recomendo a felicidade, pois não há coisa melhor para um homem sob o sol do que comer, beber e ser feliz. É a felicidade que o acompanhará em seu trabalho por todos os dias de sua vida, a qual Deus tem lhe dado sob o sol.
