Entonces dije yo en mi corazón: Como sucederá al necio me sucederá también á mí: ¿para qué pues he trabajado hasta ahora por hacerme más sabio? Y dije en mi corazón, que también esto era vanidad.

Por isso eu disse em meu coração: Assim como acontece ao tolo, também acontecerá a mim; por que então eu me tornei mais sábio? Então disse em meu coração que isto também era inútil.

Então, eu disse em meu coração: o que acontece ao tolo também me acontecerá. Então, que diferença faz em ser muito sábio? Concluí em meu coração: isso também é apenas ilusão.
