Wenn du eine Stadt viele Tage belagern wirst, indem du Krieg wider sie führst, um sie einzunehmen, so sollst du ihre Bäume nicht verderben, indem du die Axt gegen sie schwingst (denn du kannst davon essen), und sollst sie nicht abhauen; denn ist der Baum des Feldes ein Mensch, daß er vor dir in Belagerung kommen sollte?

Cuando pusieres cerco á alguna ciudad, peleando contra ella muchos días para tomarla, no destruyas su arboleda metiendo en ella hacha, porque de ella comerás; y no la talarás, que no es hombre el árbol del campo para venir contra ti en el cerco.

Quando puseres cerco a alguma cidade, lutando contra ela muitos dias para tomá-la, não destruas seu arvoredo metendo nele machado, porque dele comerás; e não o cortarás, que não é homem a árvore do campo para vir contra ti no cerco.

Quando vós sitiardes uma cidade por um longo tempo, enquanto vós fazeis guerra para capturá-la, não destruais as árvores da cidade cortando-as com um machado. Pois vós podeis comer o fruto delas, então, não as corteis. É a árvore do campo como um homem que sitiareis?
