And to that the high priest himself and all the Council can testify. For I had letters of introduction from them to our fellow Jews at Damascus, and I was on my way to that place, to bring those whom I might find there prisoners to Jerusalem for punishment.

wie auch der Hohepriester und die ganze Ältestenschaft mir Zeugnis gibt, von denen ich auch Briefe an die Brüder empfing und nach Damaskus reiste, um auch diejenigen, die dort waren, gebunden nach Jerusalem zu führen, auf daß sie gestraft würden.

Como también el príncipe de los sacerdotes me es testigo, y todos los ancianos; de los cuales también tomando letras á los hermanos, iba á Damasco para traer presos á Jerusalem aun á los que estuviesen allí, para que fuesen castigados.

O sumo sacerdote e todos os anciãos também podem dar testemunho de que recebi cartas deles direcionadas aos irmãos em Damasco, a fim de viajar para lá. Eu devia trazer acorrentados para Jerusalém todos desse Caminho que ali estivessem, para que fossem punidos.
