Und nachdem er ihn weggetan hatte, erweckte er ihnen David zum König, welchem er auch Zeugnis gab und sprach: "Ich habe David gefunden, den Sohn Isais, einen Mann nach meinem Herzen, der meinen ganzen Willen tun wird".

Y quitado aquél, levantóles por rey á David, al que dió también testimonio, diciendo: He hallado á David, hijo de Jessé, varón conforme á mi corazón, el cual hará todo lo que yo quiero.

E tirando a este, levantou-lhes por rei a Davi, ao qual também deu testemunho, e disse: Eu achei a Davi, filho de Jessé, um homem conforme o meu coração, que fará toda a minha vontade.

Com o passar do tempo, Deus o retirou do reinado e deu-lhes Davi como rei. Sobre Davi, Deus disse: 'Achei Davi, filho de Jessé, para ser um homem segundo o meu coração; ele fará tudo o que Eu desejo'.
