Und Elisa saß in seinem Hause, und die Ältesten saßen bei ihm. Und der König sandte einen Mann vor sich her. Ehe der Bote zu ihm kam, sprach er aber zu den Ältesten: Habt ihr gesehen, daß dieser Mördersohn hergesandt hat, um mir den Kopf wegzunehmen? Sehet zu, sobald der Bote kommt, verschließet die Tür und dränget ihn mit der Tür hinweg! Ist nicht der Schall der Tritte seines Herrn hinter ihm?

Mas antes que el mensajero viniese á él, dijo él á los ancianos: ¿No habéis visto cómo este hijo del homicida me envía á quitar la cabeza? Mirad pues, y cuando viniere el mensajero, cerrad la puerta, é impedidle la entrada: ¿no viene tras él el ruido de los pies de su amo?

O rei enviou um homem adiante de si, mas, antes que o mensageiro chegasse a Eliseu, este disse aos anciãos: "Vede como esse filho de um assassino mandou cortar minha cabeça? Vede: quando o mensageiro chegar, fechai a porta, e a mantende fechada. Não é o som dos passos do seu senhor atrás dele?
