Und sie verachteten seine Satzungen und seinen Bund, den er mit ihren Vätern gemacht, und seine Zeugnisse, die er ihnen bezeugt hatte; und sie wandelten der Eitelkeit nach und handelten eitel, und den Nationen nach, die rings um sie her waren, von denen Jehova ihnen geboten hatte, nicht wie sie zu tun.

E rejeitaram seus estatutos, e seu pacto que ele havia concertado com seus pais, e seus testemunhos que ele havia advertido contra eles; e seguiram a vaidade, e se fizeram vãos, e seguiram as nações que estavam ao redor deles, das quais o SENHOR havia lhes mandado que não fizessem à maneira delas;

Eles rejeitaram os Seus estatutos, a aliança que havia feito com os seus antepassados e os decretos da aliança que Ele lhes havia dado. Eles seguiram práticas inúteis, tornando-se inúteis. Eles seguiram as nações pagãs que estavam ao redor deles, aquelas às quais Yahweh lhes havia ordenado não imitar.
