And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

Und Gott sprach zu Salomo: Weil dieses in deinem Herzen gewesen ist, und du nicht gebeten hast um Reichtum, Güter und Ehre, und um das Leben derer, die dich hassen, und auch nicht um viele Tage gebeten, sondern dir Weisheit und Erkenntnis erbeten hast, damit du mein Volk richten mögest, über welches ich dich zum König gemacht habe:

Y dijo Dios á Salomón: Por cuanto esto fué en tu corazón, que no pediste riquezas, hacienda, ó gloria, ni el alma de los que te quieren mal, ni pediste muchos días, sino que has pedido para ti sabiduría y ciencia para juzgar mi pueblo, sobre el cual te he puesto por rey,

E disse Deus a Salomão: Porquanto isto foi em teu coração, que não pediste riquezas, riqueza, ou glória, nem a alma dos que te querem mal, nem pediste muitos dias, mas sim que pediste para ti sabedoria e conhecimento para julgar meu povo, sobre o qual te constituí por rei.

Deus disse a Salomão: "Porque isso estava em teu coração e porque não pediste por riquezas, bens ou honra, nem pela vida daqueles que te odeiam, nem por uma vida longa para ti, mas porque tu pediste por sabedoria e conhecimento para ti, para que possas governar meu povo, sobre o qual eu te fiz rei, isto é o que te farei.
