Und er sprach: Du weißt ja, daß das Königtum mein war, und daß ganz Israel sein Angesicht auf mich gerichtet hatte, daß ich König sein sollte; aber das Königtum hat sich gewandt und ist meinem Bruder geworden, denn von Jehova aus gehörte es ihm.

Y él dijo: Tú sabes que el reino era mío, y que todo Israel había puesto en mí su rostro, para que yo reinara: mas el reino fué traspasado, y vino á mi hermano; porque por Jehová era suyo.

E ele disse: Tu sabes que o reino era meu, e que todo Israel havia posto em mim seu rosto, para que eu reinasse: mas o reino foi traspassado, e veio a meu irmão; porque pelo SENHOR era seu.

Adonias disse: "Tu sabes que o reino era meu e que todo o Israel esperava que me tornasse rei. Contudo o reino foi transferido para meu irmão, porque ele o recebeu de Yahweh.
