Und David ging hinaus, ihnen entgegen, und er hob an und sprach zu ihnen: Wenn ihr zum Frieden zu mir gekommen seid, um mir zu helfen, so wird mein Herz sich mit euch vereinigen; wenn aber, um mich an meine Feinde zu verraten, ohne daß Unrecht in meiner Hand ist, so möge der Gott unserer Väter es sehen und strafen!

Y David salió á ellos, y hablóles diciendo: Si habéis venido á mí para paz y para ayudarme, mi corazón será unido con vosotros; mas si para engañarme en pro de mis enemigos, siendo mis manos sin iniquidad, véalo el Dios de nuestros padres, y demándelo.

E Davi saiu ao encontro deles, e lhes falou, dizendo: Se viestes a mim para paz e para me ajudar, meu coração será unido convosco; mas se é para me entregar a meus inimigos, mesmo sendo meus mãos sem crime, o Deus de nossos pais o veja, e o repreenda.

Davi foi ao encontro deles e lhes disse: "Se viestes em paz para me ajudar, podeis vos juntar a mim; mas, se viestes para me entregar para meus adversários, que o Deus de nossos antepassados veja e vos repreenda, já que eu não fiz nada errado".
