Then said Saul to his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. So Saul took a sword, and fell upon it.

Da sprach Saul zu seinem Waffenträger: Ziehe dein Schwert und durchbohre mich damit, daß nicht diese Unbeschnittenen kommen und mich mißhandeln! Sein Waffenträger aber wollte nicht, denn er fürchtete sich sehr. Da nahm Saul das Schwert und stürzte sich darein.

Entonces dijo Saúl á su escudero: Saca tu espada, y pásame con ella, porque no vengan estos incircuncisos, y hagan escarnio de mí; mas su escudero no quiso, porque tenía gran miedo. Entonces Saúl tomó la espada, y echóse sobre ella.

Então Saul disse a seu escudeiro: Tira a tua espada, e atravessa-me com ela, para que não aconteça que estes incircuncisos venham, e escarneçam de mim.Porém seu escudeiro não quis, porque tinha muito medo. Então Saul tomou a espada, e se lançou sobre ela.

Então, Saul disse ao seu escudeiro: "Tira a tua espada e mata-me. De outra maneira, esses incircuncisos virão e abusarão de mim". Mas seu escudeiro não o fez, porque estava com muito medo. Então, Saul tomou sua própria espada e jogou-se sobre ela.
